Hey photo fam! With the holiday season right around the corner, it's time to start thinking about what to wear for timeless holiday family photos in Roseville, CA.

TIP #1 - Textured Fabric = Warmth + Coziness

Texture is honestly my go-to advice for all holiday photos. 


Thicker textures often evoke feelings of coziness and warm. So if you choose to wear a chunky knit sweater or a thick denim jacket with rough texture-- you're on the right track.


TIP #2 - Layer Up from Head to Toe

Think about what you would wear on a crisp winter day-- a long sleeve sweater, quilted vest, textured beanie, wide-leg overalls, cozy socks, thick boots, etc. 


The more layers you can add, the more warmth you create-- not just literally, but in the feeling you create with your family photos!


TIP #3 - Choose Refined Holiday Colors

I will always recommend keeping your outfits neutral and earthy.

You can absolutely take neutral, earthy colors in a bunch of cool directions. For example:


Instead of...

-bright red, gold, green

-white, gold, bright green

-red, silver, gold


opt for refined colors like...

-muted cranberry, linen, mushroom, taupe, soft gold

-sage, deep pine, ivory, warm tan, stone

-cinnamon, cream, warm tan, soft brown, pine


Find the color theme that sparks "Christmas" for you and soften the colors. And bam!-- you have a gorgeous, more nuanced palette for your Roseville family photos.


BONUS TIP - Consider the Location

If you're really going for a holiday vibe, consider taking photos at the following locations:


-Christmas tree farm - The Flower Farm in Loomis will have one soon.
