Today I'm going to hook you up with the best locations to get that dreamy, ethereal look for your maternity photos in Roseville (surrounding areas too).

Let's get down to business:
#1 - Blue Oaks Trails (past Fiddyment)
This is one of my favorite locations to shoot at around late summer - fall time because of the tall, white grass.
Drive down blue oaks all the way past Fiddyment road and locate the bike trails off to the right of the road.
I love this location because it's a nature preserve, so in photos it really looks like you're out in the middle of nowhere, when really, your right in Roseville.
If you're really into that light and airy look, this location is ideal for you!
#2 - LUX Studios
If you what to go for a more editorial look for your maternity photos in Roseville, I highly recommend looking into LUX Studios in Old Town Roseville. You can get great photos here year-round.
Just be sure that your photographer knows how to shoot indoors, it's very important to stay close to the window so you get that crisp, classic contrast in the highlights and shadows.
The nice thing about a studio session is (A) it's a blank canvas, and (B) you can do your photoshoot in the morning (I recommend 9/10am).
Just note you can't do an evening photoshoot in a studio due to lack of light!
#3 - Traylor Ranch Nature Reserve
This is a gorgeous nature reserve located in Loomis (20 minutes east of Roseville).
It changes year-round, but springtime photos here are some of my favorite -- you get beautiful blossom trees, tall green grass, and delicate wildflowers!
Fall is also a great time to do photos here if you like lush green grasses and gorgeous sunset light.
While you're here, be sure to take a walk around the reserve and wave hi to the horse-riders passing by! It truly is such a quaint piece of Loomis.
#4 - Horton Iris Garden
Three words: Private. Iris. Garden.
This is a stunning garden located in Loomis (20 minutes east of Roseville). It's beautiful year-round with a pond, pampas grass, and very large garden area.
The irises are in bloom in the springtime, starting in April and ending late May. These flowers are SO beautiful if you want an extra feminine touch to your maternity photoshoot.
*Note that your photographer will have to reserve / pay for this garden rental in advance.
#5 - Folsom Lake Maternity Session
This sandy lake location is an oldie but a goodie. Folsom lake is beautiful year-round.
I did this family session in August so there was light grass to complemented the vast sandy landscape of the lake.
I like to take the FIRST RIGHT when you pass through the granite bay gates. You'll come to a fork in the road (DON'T TURN LEFT!).
Turn RIGHT again and follow the road until you get to the parking lot. When you get out of the car, follow the shoreline to the right and it's a 5 min walk to get to this gorgeous rocky location!
Dip in the water at the end of your session to get some SERIOUSLY dreamy-looking photos. Just make sure you bring a towel and backup clothes!
