Outdoor summer sessions can be tough when it comes to warm weather heat, but they can 100% be made fun with a bit of water nearby!


This is the Francisco family, a nearby couple and their two young toddlers! Leading up to the session, we chatted locations and landed on this beautiful Folsom lake beach.


I made sure to warn Alyssa in advance to pack walking shoes just in case (heels and sand are simply a no-go)!


The day of the shoot was so much fun-- in and out of the water. Between posed photos and playful games, the session felt fun and natural, allowing each photo to capture authentic smiles and laughs between the parents and kiddos.


The perks of a lake shoot? Water photos! We captured beautiful photos of Alyssa and little Ruby connecting and playing together, wading on the shore. Then came little Max who absolutely LOVED splashing in the water.
