If you're searching for a newborn photographer in Sacramento who can take in-home, lifestyle photos, this recent photoshoot can give you a great idea of the whole process.
First-- it's nice to meet you! My name is Sydney, and I'm a Sacramento photographer who specializes in photographing families, newborns, and couples.
Prepping for your in-home session
I try to make prepping for your in-home session as easy as possible. Here's what you will do:
2 WEEKS PRIOR:
- Start visualizing your outfits. Keep in mind, light/neutral/textured fabrics photograph best. Think about the tone you want to set. Do you want a beautiful, serene look? Go for the flowy dress. Do you want it to feel more cozy? Opt for textured layers.
- When in doubt, ask Sydney for help!
1 WEEK PRIOR:
- I will ask you to send me photos of your home (main living areas, nursery, & bedroom). The key is to take the photos at the time of day we will do the session, which is usually mid-morning. Please note: your home doesn't need to be clean for these photos!
- Based on those images, I will let you know which rooms we will use on the session day, meaning you will only need to clean and declutter those areas.
1 DAY PRIOR:
- Tidy up and de-clutter the rooms we talked about. The less distraction the better! We want you and baby to shine during the session.
30 MINUTES PRIOR:
- Feed baby so they are fat and happy for the session :)
5 MINUTES PRIOR:
- Turn off ALL the lights in the house. We only want the natural sunlight coming through the window!
